I think that in some way fairy tales do teach a moral, but only kids. When you grow up you stop believing in them and they are not taken seriously. In my opinion only old fairy tales are safe for the children, because in a modern fairy tales and cartoons there is added violence, like some fighting.

I agree with you. I feel that fairy tales teach little kids morals; sometimes not always postivie but still morals none the less. I would never let my kid read Angela Carter's version of Little Red Riding Hood. It is too racey and didsturbing for a little kid.
