Letter

This week I've got a letter from my classmates, whom car hit in December 2005, doctors said that one of them will not live and now she even can write! However, she had to learn to write again, but her hand writing is the same as before. I'm so glad for her.
That accident happened in the beginning of December 2005. These two girls were returning from the party by foot. There were no cars on the road. On half way home, there was driving drunk driver and hit them. He even didn't call emergency, he just took to the car one of the girls, the one who was not seriously injured, and the other one left there lieing on the ground, maybe she thought that she is already... At first, that girl in the car driver wanted to throw in the river, but somehow changed his mind and drew her to the hospital. Right after that car was going taxi and the driver saw girl lieing and called emergency. After that she was in coma for few months. My school, church and neighbourhood was collecting money for her medicine and it still was not enough. But somehow her mother made it, she believed that she will be healthy and it happened. School let her just graduate from school. The driver was not imprisoned, just payd some little sum, because he was assistant of the public prosecutor.
I can't wait until I got home and see all of my friends.

Gender roles

I grew up in the family with distinct difference between man and woman. A man should always be strong, know how to repair things, do hard work at home, be the head of the family(woman sometimes can be the neck and where it turns the head will follow). A woman should always know how to cook sew, do the laundry and other housework, be caring and raise children. That's how I was taught, to obey men, but also have own opinion. In most countries society accepted women equal to men, they could have professions that men have, even go to the army. Many women even became the head of a state, for instance Angela Merkel. But in Islamic world women are still considered as slaves to men. In my opinion, men and women are humans with slight differences in structure of the body, not more.

Midterms...tests...(

Next week I will have midterms. There are already tests...(((

Today was horrible day. Today I had an appointment with my counselor. To be on time I went earlier because I knew that today trains go by another schedule. First train train to Newark was on time. I arrived to Newark at 11:15. There I found out that trains to MSU today will go only after 4pm. I was in shock. I had 1:30 appointment, 2:30 math test, all that I missed. In addition I forgot cash so I couldn't go by bus. I had no lunch. Eventually I got to MSU. It was 4:30pm. Math Professor had office hour today from 5:15 to 6:30, so I thought I could talk to him, but he never showed up. Trains in the afternoon didn't go to Newark. Surprise! It's good that my dad didn't go to Albany today, but only tomorrow, and picked me up. I got home at 7pm. I missed the test and I don't know what will happen with my grade...

I think genocide is like a war, but one side is very strong and another very weak. It has to be stopped as soon as possible. I feel bad for those kids who grew up in this environment that was mantioned in the Kite Runner.

Some people in the world are cruel

Genocide happened all over the world for many centuries. Now, when we may think that everything is civilized in 21st century, it also happens. However, now are created organizations that help to fight or prevent genocide. There were made measures and maybe some genocides will be prevented. I hope there will be no more of them.
